Billing & Insurance

Ozarks Healthcare is committed to providing excellent health care in a manner that is affordable to all of our patients. It is our goal to work with you and your insurance, Medicare, or Medicaid provider to obtain payment for services. Therefore, it is very important that you provide insurance, Medicare, or Medicaid information when you first come to the hospital for services.

Commercial Insurance

If you have commercial insurance, Ozarks Healthcare will file your bill with your insurance company. Some insurance companies must give approval prior to receiving services. You or your physician's office may need to obtain that approval. If you need help acquiring approval from your insurance provider, Ozarks Healthcare will work with you, your physician, and your insurance company.

Patients who have commercial insurance are responsible for payment of deductibles and co-insurance not paid by insurance.

Medicare

Ozarks Healthcare is a Medicare provider and will file your bill to Medicare. Unless you have another insurance or Medicaid, you will be responsible for your deductible and co-insurance. If you have insurance or Medicaid that pays after Medicare, Ozarks Healthcare will file your bill once Medicare payment has been received.

Medicaid

Ozarks Healthcare is part of the Medicaid programs in Missouri and Arkansas. We will file your bill to the appropriate Medicaid program. You will be responsible for any co-pay assessed by Medicaid.

Non-covered Services

You will be responsible for any services not covered by insurance, Medicare, or Medicaid.

If you have questions concerning the billing process, your biller can be contacted in Ozarks Healthcare Patient Accounts located on Eighth Street across from the hospital or by calling extension 6701.

Financial Assistance

To ensure that quality medical care is available to all of our patients, Ozarks Healthcare has a financial assistance program to assist the uninsured or underinsured. You may receive assistance up to 100 percent based on your income and assets.

Ozarks Healthcare Financial Counselors are available Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. to answer questions concerning billing, payment options, or charity care. Financial counselors are located in the Parkway Center, Suite 17, Financial Services Department. They may be contacted by calling 417-257-6701.

Other Bills

You may receive medical bills in addition to your hospital bill. For example, you may receive a bill from your doctor. If you have radiology services, you will receive a bill for reading the test. If you have skin or tissue removed during a procedure, you will receive a bill from the pathologist who read the results. If you have questions about these bills, please call the number printed on the statement you received from them.

Health Insurance Plans

Patients should always check with their insurance company to confirm the service is covered and the provider performing the service is in-network. Patients are responsible for out-of-network charges incurred.
