Ozarks Healthcare and the Community Blood Center of the Ozarks (CBCO), sole supplier of blood, platelets, and plasma to patients at area healthcare facilities, will host a blood drive on Thursday, April 27, from noon until 6 p.m. at the Willard Hunter Classroom in the Ozarks Healthcare Parkway Center at 1211 Porter Wagoner Blvd. in West Plains.

Ozarks Healthcare recently shared updates regarding a healthcare workforce development consortium between the health system, the South Central Career Center (SCCC), and Missouri State University-West Plains (MSU-WP), which was funded by the Howell County Commission late last year through American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funding and the Ozarks Healthcare Foundation.

Ozarks Healthcare is pleased to announce that Sue Hudson, registered nurse (RN), MSN, passed the Infusion Nurses Certification Corporation’s (INCC’s) March 2023 Certified Registered Nurse Infusion (CRNI®) Examination. In doing so, she joins an elite, global community of nearly 3,000 active CRNI®s.

Doctors’ Day is an annual observance focused on appreciating physicians who help save lives everywhere, along with their contributions to the field of medicine. This Doctors’ Day, Ozarks Healthcare is honored to share the perspectives of Dr. Marvin Fowler and Dr. Stephen and Betty Coats, who all were healthcare pioneers at the health system as its first days as a small community health hospital. While the health system has experienced a great amount of change over the years, Fowler and the Coats share how the health system’s roots have not changed.

Due to expected rain in the forecast, the City of West Plains is rescheduling its planned road construction in front of Ozarks Healthcare’s main entrance to Tuesday, March 14, from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Ozarks Healthcare recently welcomed Mary Kate Brasier, WHNP-BC, a women’s health nurse practitioner, to Ozarks Healthcare Women’s Health as a new provider. Brasier joins Dr. Dennis Albino, Dr. Kristyn Menendez, and Jennifer Rhoads, WHNP-BC, in providing compassionate, expert women’s health care backed by the total resources of the Ozarks Healthcare system.

The City of West Plains is planning to conduct road construction on a portion of the roundabout on Kentucky Ave. in front of Ozarks Healthcare’s main entrance at its main campus on Thursday, March 9. Construction will fix a portion of pavement off of the roundabout that had to be broken in order to repair a city water pipe.
