Ozarks Healthcare will offer free athletic physicals for student athletes entering grades 7 - 12 in the 2023 - 2024 school year from 4 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, May 23, at Ozarks Healthcare Orthopedics and Spine located on the second floor of Ozarks Healthcare's main entrance (Medical Office Building) at 1100 Kentucky Ave. in West Plains. Local physicians, family nurse practitioners, and licensed practical nurses (LPNs) will conduct the physicals.

Erica Millar, licensed practical nurse (LPN) from Ozarks Healthcare’s Medical Surgical Unit (Med/Surg), was recently honored with The DAISY Award® For Extraordinary Nurses for the level of care she gave to a hospitalized five-month-old and her mother, Pauline Roberts.

Ozarks Healthcare recently welcomed Vanessa Harvey, CNP, FNP-BC, a family nurse practitioner, to Ozarks Healthcare Wound Care as a new provider. Harvey joins Dr. William McGee in providing compassionate, expert wound care backed by the total resources of the Ozarks Healthcare system.

The Chaos Closet, a clothing, diaper, and supply resource for area foster families in Wests Plains, recently presented Ozarks Healthcare’s Women Center and OB Department with 12 brand new diaper bags filled with newborn necessities for foster parents.

When asked about her experience with Ozarks Healthcare At Home services, 97-year-old Mary Jo McManus said, “They just took me by the hand, and everybody knew exactly where I needed to be and what needed to be done. They filled a space that no one else can fill.”

Applications for Ozarks Healthcare’s M*A*S*H (Medical Academy of Science and Health) Camp this summer are now open for area students who may be interested in pursuing a career in healthcare.

Ozarks Healthcare recently welcomed Dr. Willis Courtney, board-certified neurologist and epileptologist, to Ozarks Healthcare Neurology as a new provider. Courtney joins Dr. Clara Applegate in providing complete neurology care.

After more than a year of several successful fundraising initiatives, the Ozarks Healthcare Foundation was able to present a new mobile mammography unit to Ozarks Healthcare this week.
