Ozarks Healthcare Behavioral Health Center (BHC) to host Hobby Fair: Promoting Mental Health and Wellbeing
Ozarks Healthcare’s Behavioral Health Center (BHC) is pleased to announce its upcoming Patient Hobby Fair, an event aimed at showcasing the talents of its patients and promoting overall health and wellbeing. The event is scheduled to take place on September 29, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the West Plains Public Library Community Room located at 750 W. Broadway St. in West Plains.
The Patient Hobby Fair is an initiative by BHC staff to recognize the significant impact of mental health on overall wellness along with the benefits that engaging in hobbies can create for patients’ wellbeing.
“Participating in activities that bring joy and fulfillment can reduce stress, improve mood, and increase overall satisfaction,” Christy Jackson, Manager of Ozarks Healthcare BHC’s Crisis Stabilization Center, said. “Our goal with this Patient Hobby Fair is to offer a supportive environment where our patients can take pride and explore creative outlets and connect with others who share similar interests.”
Patients who would like to participate in the fair should contact Jackson at 417-257-6762 ext. 1640 by Sept. 1. All family-friendly crafts and creations are welcomed to be entered to show and display. No products will be sold. Any entries that are not deemed family-friendly will be declined.
The public is invited to attend. A “Best in Show” will be awarded, and a snack bar will be available. For more information, call the phone number previously mentioned.
