OB/GYN Dr. Tony Lam joins Ozarks Healthcare

Ozarks Healthcare recently welcomed Tony C. Lam, MD, FACOG, board-certified OB/GYN, to Ozarks Healthcare Women’s Health as a new provider. Lam joins providers Dennis Albino, MD, Mary Kate Brasier, WHNP-BC, and Jennifer Rhoads, WHNP-BC, in providing expert, compassionate women’s healthcare backed by the total resources of the Ozarks Healthcare system.

Lam has worked most recently at Ozarks Healthcare Women’s Health on a locum basis and has practiced at Sainte Genevieve County Memorial Hospital, in Ste. Genevieve, Missouri, since 2008.

Lam received his medical degree from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine of Yeshiva University, Bronx, New York. He completed an Obstetrics and Gynecology Residency at Loma Linda University Medical Center, Loma Linda, California.

Originally from New York City, Dr. Lam attended medical school through the National Health Service Corps Scholarship Program (NHSC), which awards scholarships to students pursuing primary care health training. In return, he committed to providing primary care health services to Health Professional Shortage Areas (HPSAs) after residency, which sent him to Missouri, where he’s practiced ever since.

Lam and his wife, now retired from nursing, like to travel in their spare time, especially to the Caribbean. They also enjoy exploring the local beauty of the Ozarks.

“After recently working at several organizations on a locum basis, I was very impressed with Ozarks Healthcare and the welcoming environment,” Lam said regarding his decision to work for Ozarks Healthcare.

“We are pleased to continue to expand our women’s healthcare services with the addition of Dr. Lam,” Tom Keller, Ozarks Healthcare President and CEO, said. “His experience in the specialized health care of women will greatly benefit our patients in receiving the care they need close to home.”
