Dr. Scott Roush now seeing Patients at Ozarks Healthcare in Alton Full-time
Ozarks Healthcare recently announced that Dr. Scott Roush, board-certified family medicine physician, has transitioned his practice to Ozarks Healthcare Alton full-time. Roush joins Kayly King, FNP-C, and Glennette Haney, FNP-C, where he will continue to serve patients of all ages, focusing on preventative care and personalized medicine.
Ozarks Healthcare family medicine providers work as a team to care for patients using their collective expertise. They also manage patients’ electronic medical records, medications, and screenings. Family medicine providers are able to provide expert diagnoses, treatments, and ongoing care for a wide range of acute and chronic conditions.
“After 18 years of serving patients in West Plains, I have decided to transition my practice to a more rural setting. This decision comes after much reflection and consideration,” Roush said. “While the current environment has provided numerous opportunities and a rewarding experience, moving to a rural location will allow me to offer my patients a more personalized and intimate level of care.”
Roush received his medical degree from the University of Health Sciences College of Osteopathic Medicine, Kansas City, and completed a family medicine residency at Cox Medical Center, Springfield, Missouri. He subsequently founded Ozarks Family Care, West Plains, with fellow physician Dr. Jason Spurling. Last year Ozarks Family Care transitioned to Ozarks Healthcare Family Care to share resources and expertise, intending to take primary care in the community to the next level.
“Dr. Roush’s experience and compassion are well-known in our community, and we are honored to have him continue to serve as a provider with our healthcare team in Alton,” Tom Keller, Ozarks Healthcare President, and CEO said. “He will continue to play an integral role in adding to our capacity of serving our community under one unified health system with multiple specialties.”
Before practicing medicine, Roush began his career in education as a science teacher in the Alton School District. As a young family, he and his wife experienced a medical emergency where the community’s unwavering support greatly touched them during that time. The experience subsequently motivated his decision to pursue a career change into healthcare.
“I am honored to be returning to serve a community that unconditionally supported my family and I and ultimately influenced my decision to go into medicine,” Roush said. “I am excited about this new chapter and am confident that the move will only enhance the care I can provide.”
