Ozarks Healthcare welcomes Podiatrist Dr. David Lish
Dr. David Lish, podiatrist, has joined Ozarks Healthcare Podiatry as a new provider. Lish joins Dr. Rex Goodman in treating foot and ankle injuries and conditions, arthritis, diabetic foot issues, and more through surgical and non-surgical care.
“We are thrilled Ozarks Healthcare Podiatry is growing with the addition of Dr. Lish,” Tom Keller, Ozarks Healthcare President and CEO, said. “Foot care is essential to our patients’ mobility and quality of life. Dr. Lish and Dr. Goodman both have great expertise and knowledge in treating foot and ankle conditions with top-quality compassion and care.”
Lish completed a podiatric surgical residency at Ascension Genesys Hospital in Grand Blanc, Michigan last month. He earned his Doctorate of Podiatric Medicine (D.P.M.) from the California School of Podiatric Medicine at Samuel Merritt University. He also holds a Bachelor of Science in biology with an emphasis in health science from Idaho State University.
Originally from Idaho, Lish and Goodman connected at a young age, before either started down their career paths in podiatry. In addition to being good friends and business owners before pursuing medicine, Lish and Goodman are also now brother-in-laws. Lish says Goodman opened his eyes to the podiatry field.
“Dr. Goodman introduced me to podiatry, and I haven’t looked back.” Lish said. “What I love most about podiatry is that I get to serve as a clinical physician and see a wide variety of pathology, from elderly patients with simple diabetic toe issues to severe car crash victims who need reconstructive ankle surgery. I’m excited to be in an area similar to where I’m from – where I can work hard and help people in rural communities.”
Lish also said he is excited to work with Ozarks Healthcare’s diverse group of providers:
“I’m looking forward to building relationships with the other physicians here at Ozarks Healthcare. Even though podiatry is its own segment, Ozarks Healthcare is a group of doctors – we’re all working together. From a podiatry standpoint, we often practice multi-specialty care – we work with other physicians to provide the best care to help our patients.”
Lish and his wife, Sadie, have relocated to the West Plains area with their children, Oliver, 8, Scout, 6, and Ford, 1. They enjoy being outdoors, floating, and hiking as a family.
Lish is accepting new patients. A referral is not required. Contact Ozarks Healthcare Podiatry at 417-505-7822 for more information. Ozarks Healthcare’s Podiatry Clinic is located at 1100 Kentucky Ave. in West Plains and is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
