Spotlight on Wound Care Services
By Kim Wood
Helping you heal faster so you can get back to your life.
Millions of people are living with chronic wounds in the United States, and the numbers are growing. Increased age, obesity, heart and vascular disease, cancer treatment, and traumatic injury may contribute to non-healing wounds. Typically, a wound that does not respond to normal medical care within 14 days is considered a problem or chronic wound. A chronic wound can detract from your quality of life and prevent you from doing things you enjoy.
That’s where Ozark Medical Center’s (OMC) Wound Care Services, managed by Healogics, can help. With state-of-the-art treatments and patient education, people with non-healing and chronic wounds now have a place to turn. If you or someone you love is a candidate for their outpatient programs, OMC Wound Care Services will work closely with you and your doctor.
OMC Wound Care Services are provided by a panel of physicians and staff that include surgeons specially trained for treating hard-to-heal wounds. The current panel includes Medical Director Dr. Magdy Giurgius, Dr. Antony Joseph, Dr. Alexandre Makarian, Dr. William McGee, Dr. Sonia Gerlick, and Lynsey Sullivan, FNP-C.
If you suffer from a chronic or non-healing wound, speak ask your physician about a referral to our Wound Care Center, or contact us directly at 417-257-5946 or by e-mail at woundservices@ozarksmedicalcenter.com for an assessment.
